Special Branch is the body of the Metropolitan Police that react to high-status security emergencies. They contain additional, and more specific resources which can be utilized for emergency response, including:
- Forensic Science
- Special Response Teams (SRT)
- Bomb Squad
- K-9 Unit
- Negotiators
- Police Airborne Support
Special Response Teams (SRT), bomb squad, etc. Also included in Special Branch are Specialized Police Divisions (SPD) that police a specific area of law enforcement, such as alcohol sales, import/export, etc.
